Talley Family Update - July 2025

Fourth of July in Oregon

It has been a busy quarter of life, health and ministry for all of the Talley’s. Our move to Willows, CA has been a blessing. We moved into our home in January after a number of months to update and repair the home. We had so much help from friends and family as we needed to make the house work for Don. We leveled the floors, created a roll in shower and updated the kitchen. We are thrilled to be here and loved having the girls home for most of summer. We celebrated the fourth of July driving up through the redwoods and the Oregon coast.

Taylor Graduated!

In April, Taylor graduated from Grand Canyon University with a BS in Early Childhood Education. She finished her student teaching in May and was recently hired as a 3rd grade teacher in Phoenix, AZ. We are thrilled for her and we will travel there next week to help her set up her classroom and celebrate this milestone.

Madison will head back to Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland on August 4th where she will begin her third year. She will double major in Biology and Chemistry with a minor in Bioethics to pursue her passion for research. She will be an RA in the dorms this year as well as continue a part-time work study in an on-campus research lab. We will take Maddie back to school in August to drop her off and while there Don will be meeting with a few ministry leaders in the area.

Life on Mission!

We have truly begun connecting with people in this small community. We attend and serve Open Gate Christian Fellowship by leaning into the youth programs, hosting an adult life group, and building friendships. Crissie is mentoring some middle school girls and saw one of them say yes to Jesus in June!

Don is doing well physically as we continue to navigate new norms with his mobility. He can no longer take steps on his own, he isn’t driving anymore and simply needs more assistance throughout the day. We are searching for a neurologist that would have some knowledge of his rare disorder and is in our insurance network. We have found a wonderful chiropractor that sees Don each week which helps his pain and energy levels. All in all, keep us in prayer as many of you have over the years. God is simply amazing as He continues to use the foolish and weak things in this world for His work and Glory.

We are so grateful for the support and care you have for us and the work God has called us into. Please continue to pray for Don and his energy and pain levels, pray for us in our new community and the work God is doing here. Pray for Taylor and her new job as a 3rd grade teacher and for Maddie as she takes a heavy class schedule into her third year at college. Pray for AYM as we connect with more youth workers, develop resources and champion disability inclusion in youth ministry.

For HIs Glory,

Don & Crissie Talley
