Talley Family Update - October 2025

Many people ask, “Where is Willows, CA and how are you enjoying living in such a small community?” Willows is an hour north of the Sacramento International Airport on “The 5” with a population of about 7000. We couldn’t be more pleased.

The town is quaint and the community is friendly. Our home is just a block from our church, a block from family, and five blocks from downtown. One of Don’s favorite things is to easily ride his wheelchair to his favorite taco truck or coffee shop and, without the snow we had in Colorado, he can do it all year round.

Beside all the incredible movement and growth of AYM over the last few months we have been busy on a personal level getting both of our daughters situated, getting our primary care physicians established, working on the house, helping to run our church youth group and hosting an adult Life Group. The relationships we are forging here in Willows have been such a blessing!

Taylor is working as a 3rd grade teacher in Phoenix, AZ and enjoying her post college transition. We had the honor to go help her set up her first classroom in August… it was only 113 degrees! We are so proud of her and excited for her new career.

We dropped Madison off in Cleveland, OH at Case Western Reserve University in August as well for her third year. She has 19 units this semester and planning to graduate in December of 2026. She found a wonderful little church not far from campus where the congregation hosts a potluck each Sunday specifcally to care for the many college students who attend. They have been such an incredible source of support for Madison and all the students.

Make it stand out

Maddie will graduate in December 2026 with dual degrees in Biology and Chemistry and a minor in Bioethics with her goal of doing genetic research.

Don’s health is good but we are finding more challenges to his mobility. He simply needs more help to prepare for the day. He is full time in the wheelchair now but is not slowing down as we continue to live life on mission. We are beginning to pray for a wheelchair accessible van which would allow us to take his electric chair places.

We are planning to be in Colorado Springs for Christmas to see Crissie’s family and visit with friends. This year has been moving by so quickly we can hardly believe we are at the tail end of 2025.

We are so grateful for your love and support. Please feel to reach out to us… we would love to hear from you.
